Do you have the full resolution images in the shop pages?

The answer is no. We compress slightly and reduce the resolution size of the image to 2000 pixels on the long side or about 2.6 Megapixels. This size will be slightly more than full screen on a 1920 x 1080 monitor. Then when the image is uploaded to our site gallery it is compressed further for optimal website loading. FYI, zooming in to a scale of more than roughly 130% will not show any extra details as you are just magnifying the image more than what is contained in the image. Our full resolution images are what we use for printing your purchase and contain approximately 20 to 40 Megapixels, containing more than 9x more photo information. The AR Display viewer does contain the same preview image.

How will my print come for it to be displayed?

See below for each type of material ordered:

  • HD Acrylic: This will be a float mount print. It has a reduced size rear black frame on the back and will look as if it is “floating” off the wall. The print comes with a wall mount ready to hang.
  • HD Metal: This will be a float mount print. It has a reduced size rear black frame on the back and will look as if it is “floating” off the wall. The print comes with a wall mount ready to hang.
  • Semi-Gloss Giclée Canvas: This print will come on a 1.5″ wood frame, canvas wrapped. The wood frame is not exposed from the front or sides and has mirrored image printing on the wrapped edges. For smaller prints (12″ or below on a long edge), on request, we can ship a 0.75″ wood wrapped frame on our smaller sized prints only, instead of the 1.5″ wood wrapped frame. This would allow the mirrored edges to reflect less content of the main photo on the edges. Please add the request to your order notes. The print comes with a braided wire mount ready to hang on the wall.
  • Fine Art Paper: This print will come unframed on Breathing Color® fine art paper that has a matte finish. The print will be a 1/2″ to 1″ bleed print (1/2″ to 1″ non-printed border around the paper) depending on size, in order to prep for framing. You can request in your notes, other options like no bleed, framed, etc., which may add additional costs.  This print will ship rolled unless requested otherwise.

Contact us on our contact us page here for custom options on your order, if you have a special request.

Do I need an AR Headset to preview images on my Wall?

The answer is no. Just use your cellphone and point it at the wall you want to preview the picture location at. Use your phone camera and move your phone around on the wall to gather the information of what is in the area(floor, objects, etc), after reading the wall scene the picture will show based off the size you have selected. Make sure to stand far enough away from the wall to get a great full preview!

What tips do you have for the AR display tool?

We recommend not trying to zoom the photo larger or smaller as this will change the relative size of the photo in relation to the wall. As the photo first shows it should show correctly for the preview on your wall. If you have any issues, feel free to let us know via email: here and we will do our best to address the issue to the best of our ability. Our response time is usually within 24 hours excluding weekends.

What DPI is my purchase printed at?

We target our prints to be between 300dpi and 150dpi. Please note that the dpi will be reduce at larger sizes when ordered beyond the size of the image in pixels. For example, if you want a print at 300dpi and you want it in a size of 24″ x 36″ that photo would need to be a 77Megapixel photo. Most of the top end cameras don’t even shoot a photo at that resolution, as they top out at 50 to 60Megapixels. So, if you want one of our photos at a size larger than our offered size, the photo will be a reduced dpi depending on how much larger you want it printed. Our images that are approximately 24Megapixels are 300 dpi up to a size of 13″ x 20″. Once the photo is bigger than our resolution the photo dpi reduces when printed, for example, that 24Megapixel photo at a size of 24″ x 36″ will be a dpi of 166dpi (see the next sentences below). A photo 2ft x 3ft is pretty big, hence why we offer our AR Display viewer. Our prints vary from 20Megapixels to over 40Megapixels depending on cropping.

Our photo lab that we use, did a comparison test of two of the same photos printed at 300dpi and 150dpi at the same size. To the eye there is no visible detail differences or pixelation.

Also, another factor comes into play as the print gets bigger, how close do you plan to look at it at? Will it be on the wall behind the sofa, so you are not looking at just a small part of the photo very close? The farther you are away from the bigger photo the less dpi the photo needs to look great. We work hard at making sure that your purchase looks it’s best by limiting the sizes we offer. See further down the title: “Who Do I Contact If I Want A Photo A Different Size or Aspect Ratio Than What is Offered?”

Is AI used to Alter the photos?

When necessary, we may use AI enhancements in order to provide the best photo image possible. This is a very controversial subject. We work hard at minimizing AI use and no we don’t use Photoshop.

what is atmospheric perspective and how does it affect landscape photography?

Atmospheric perspective happens when the landscape is farther away, it tends to lose sharpness and saturation. This is caused by the atmosphere itself. Any atmospheric conditions can amplify this effect, including fog, haze, smog, fire smoke, etc. The distance is a big factor in the cause of this effect.

Do you accept custom orders?

We would absolutely be glad to look into your special requests, feel free to reach out to us by email: here. Please provide details about your request and information, we will look into the best options and get back to you.

What are the best conditions for displaying my purchase?

Keeping the prints in the right environment will maximize their life. Here are some tips:
  • Direct sunlight will cause the colors to fade prematurely.
  • Pollutants such as smoke will also negatively impact the lifespan of your purchase.
  • Excess humidity may cause molding. Extreme low humidity will cause the wood stretcher frame to shrink on our canvas purchases which may cause the stretch to be less tight and result in sagging. This effect is temporary and will go away once it returns to a normal humidity range.
  • The lighting conditions also affect how the prints will be viewed. Viewing under different light conditions may affect how the colors are perceived by your eyes.

How do I clean my canvas photo?

The canvases are quite durable since they are given a protective coating and should resist most scratches, smudges, fingerprints, etc. You can dust the canvas with a soft dry cloth. If your canvas needs deeper cleaning, you may try a damp cloth, but we don’t recommend or advise this.

How do I clean my HD Metal photo?

We recommend using a clean lint free cloth to wipe off your print. You can use water or a NON-AMMONIA glass cleaner. Do NOT use rubbing alcohol or ammonia glass cleaner to clean your pint.

How do I clean my HD Acrylic photo?

We recommend using a clean lint free cloth for any dusting and cleaning. To remove any fingerprints or streaks you can use water or non-ammonia glass cleaner. In extreme cases you can try isopropyl rubbing alcohol sparingly, but we don’t recommend or advise it.

Do the products on the website look different on different materials when purchased?

The short answer is yes, as our prints on canvas can be printed larger since the material is a different texture and require a lower dpi. This will cause canvas prints to have a different appearance than one of our HD acrylic prints that will have the most gloss, richness and a sharper look due to the different surface of canvas vs. acrylic. Our HD aluminum prints are ChromaLuxe® aluminum and processed with a high-quality dye sublimation process vs. the cheaper direct print method done on lower quality aluminum. This aluminum and heat transfer combo gives your print a very impressive looking final product that is very glossy. Last, but not least, our fine art paper prints have a flat finish and are meant to be framed.
